Bengaluru couple's mysterious death: Quarrel turns deadly, bodies discovered days later
Bengaluru (The Uttam Hindu): A live-in couple was found dead in their rented house in Bengaluru's Jigani area on Monday. Police suspect it may have been a case of suicide following a quarrel.
The deceased were identified as Seema Nayak (25) and Rakesh Nayak (23), originally from Odisha. Rakesh worked for a security services firm, while Seema was an employee at a supermarket in the area.
According to police, the incident likely occurred two days ago, but it came to light on Monday when neighbors noticed a foul smell coming from the locked house and no one was moving. Suspicious, they broke a window and looked inside, only to find the two men dead.
Initial investigations revealed that the two often quarreled, allegedly due to Rakesh's alcohol addiction. According to reports, a friend who lived with them also left the house on Friday after a similar altercation.
Police suspect that Rakesh may have committed suicide first after the altercation, followed by Seema. Officials said the police have registered a case and are investigating further. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
