Bhagalpur (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has emerged from Bihar's Bhagalpur district, highlighting the poor health system and the high-handedness of quack doctors. In the Ekchari area of Kahalgaon block, a quack performed a cesarean section on a pregnant woman after watching a YouTube video on his mobile phone. Due to the doctor's fatal negligence, the woman died in agony on the operating table. However, the newborn baby narrowly escaped death.

Took his life for the greed of 30 thousand rupees

The deceased has been identified as Swati Devi, a resident of Shrimath Sthan. The incident occurred on Thursday night when Swati went into labor. On the advice of an ASHA worker from the village, the family took her to the private clinic of a doctor named Amar Kumar Mandal. The family alleges that the doctor, instead of offering a normal delivery, suggested a caesarean section and demanded 30,000 rupees. Upon receiving the family's consent, the doctor began preparations for the operation without any degree or expertise.

The incision kept on watching the video again and again

According to the family members, what happened during the operation was extremely horrific. The doctor and his assistant were watching a video of the surgery on YouTube with their mobile phones in front of them in the operation theatre. They repeatedly paused the video, rewound it, and then watched it while making the incision on the woman's body. Due to this clumsiness and carelessness, the woman started bleeding profusely from her veins. So much blood was lost that the woman died on the spot. As soon as he realized the woman's death, the doctor lied to the family members saying that the patient's condition was critical and she should be taken to another hospital immediately. After saying this, he closed the clinic and fled from the spot.

Asha worker's collusion and uproar

The family members and villagers, enraged by the incident, created a huge ruckus by placing the body outside the clinic. Upon receiving the information, the police of Rasulpur police station reached the spot and took the body into custody. The grandmother of the deceased, Sanju Devi, said while crying that they had come to this clinic trusting the Asha worker, who deceived them. Local people say that this clinic has been running illegally for years. Dangerous experiments of treatment by watching YouTube have been conducted here before and many deaths have occurred, but no concrete action has ever been taken against this game going on under the nose of the administration and every time the matter has been suppressed.
