Breathtaking Moment: Young Man Wakes Up to Cobra Sleeping Beside Him in Mosquito Net

Mayurbhanj (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light from Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, where when a young man woke up in the morning, he found a poisonous cobra snake sleeping inside the mosquito net next to him. The young man showed great understanding even in this dangerous situation and informed the forest department, after which the team rescued both the young man and the snake safely.

This incident is from Dahisahi village of Simlipal Tiger Reserve. Here a young man living in a mud house was sleeping in his mosquito net at night. Early in the morning, a cobra entered the house from nowhere and crawled inside the mosquito net and lay down comfortably next to the young man. When the young man opened his eyes and saw the snake next to him, instead of panicking, he kept calm. Without making any movement, he quietly instructed a member of his family to call the rescue team of the forest department.

Upon receiving the information, the forest department immediately sent trained rescuer Krishna Gochayat to the spot. When Krishna entered the house, he saw that the cobra and the young man were literally lying side by side, which was a rare evidence of the snake's non-aggressive behavior. The rescuer said, "Our first priority was the safety of the young man, so we first very carefully took him out of the mosquito net. After this, the cobra was successfully captured."

According to forest department officials, due to heavy rains in the area, snakes are coming out of their burrows and looking for safe and dry places. Usually cobras stay away from humans, but if they feel threatened, they can attack in self-defense. In this case, due to the calmness of the snake and the wisdom of the young man, a major accident was averted.
