During repairs on the station's pit line, the generator and guard coach attached to the rear of the train suddenly started running downhill without the engine. The uncontrolled coach derailed after traveling about 150 meters. The horrific scene left the railway employees present at the scene breathless, and chaos gripped the station premises.
The carriage began to slide during repairs, causing a commotion
This shocking incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. At that time, routine coach repair work was underway on the railway pit line. According to eyewitnesses, the heavy coach suddenly began to slowly slide downhill. Seeing the coach approaching them without an engine, the railway employees present there were alarmed and feared something untoward.
The staff ran behind the coach to stop it, but it went out of control
Seeing the coach careening downhill before their eyes, railway employees raced after it to stop it. They quickly placed wheel chocks under the wheels and tried their best to stop it, but the weight and the steep slope prevented them from controlling the coach. The coach, rolling rapidly toward the running room, derailed near a turnout about 150 meters away.
After 4 hours of hard work, the coach was back on track
Upon receiving information about the coach's derailment, trained railway staff arrived at the scene with heavy equipment and began work to put it back on track. According to officials, it took about four hours of hard work to get the coach back on track. Lalkuan Junction Station Superintendent Pushkar Rana explained the incident, stating that the coach was under repair on the pit line when it slid downhill and derailed. It has now been put back on track and fully repaired.
