Father's fury: Pregnant woman beaten to death over love marriage in Karnataka horror

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : A horrifying honor killing has come to light in Karnataka, where a father, angry over his daughter's love marriage, beat her to death with an iron rod. The incident occurred in Inapur village, Hubli.

The deceased has been identified as Manya Patil. According to police, Manya had married a man from another caste about seven months ago, which had angered her family, especially her father. She had recently returned to her village with her husband when this horrific incident took place.

Attacked with an iron rod, in-laws who came to rescue were also beaten

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused father, along with some of his close relatives, attacked Manya. It is alleged that she was brutally beaten with an iron rod. When the woman's in-laws tried to intervene, the accused also severely beat them. All the injured were taken to the hospital, but by then Manya had died.

The couple was living in hiding due to fear of danger

According to the police, Manya got married in May this year. Due to family displeasure and fear for their lives, the couple lived in Haveri district for a few months. Later, officials held a meeting of both families and tried to reconcile them. After this, Manya returned to the village with her husband on December 8, but the situation did not return to normal.

Three accused in custody, special team investigating

Following the incident, police detained three accused, Prakash, Veerana, and Arun. Police say the attackers include the victim's father and a close relative. Given the seriousness of the case, a special investigation team has been formed, and a search is underway for other suspects.
