Magh mela: 'har har gange' echoes as devotees take holy dip in Prayagraj's Triveni sangam
Prayagraj (The Uttam Hindu): On the third day of the ongoing Magh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, devotees thronged the Sangam Ghats since Monday morning. Devotees from across the country took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. The devotees were overjoyed after taking a holy dip in the Triveni. A devotee said, “We have come from Hyderabad. Earlier we had also come to the Maha Kumbh and now we have taken a holy dip in the Magh Mela. After bathing, we will go to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple tonight with the blessings of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. After this, we will visit the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and then return to Hyderabad. The Yogi government has made very good arrangements, Har Har Gange.”
Devotees praised the administration. One devotee said, "The government has managed the crowds here very well. The traffic and parking arrangements are commendable. I would like to encourage people to come here. There will be no problems; all the arrangements are excellent."
Another devotee said, "The Magh Mela has its own charm. It's wonderful to be here. The administration made excellent arrangements last time, and the same is true this year. It feels great to be here. The government's arrangements are commendable. The police are present at all times and ready to help the devotees. The youth have a strong sense of faith. Overall, the arrangements are excellent. Many facilities are available, and clean changing rooms are provided."
Magh Mela 2026 has started from January 3 and it will continue till February 15. Lakhs of devotees took bath on the first day and even now a large number of people are arriving daily. The administration has made elaborate arrangements for security, cleanliness, traffic and parking. Even amidst cold winds and fog, the enthusiasm of the devotees is not less. Let us tell you, Magh Mela is a symbol of faith and culture. There are also a large number of devotees doing Kalpavas here. Along with bathing at the Sangam Ghats, Bhajan-Kirtan and religious discourses are also taking place. Devotees say that bathing at the Sangam destroys sins and brings peace to the mind.
