Thief's wild ride: Trapped in exhaust fan, half-body hangs in mid-air as owner returns home
Kota (The Uttam Hindu): A strange case of theft has come to light from Kota, Rajasthan, which even surprised the police. Here, in Pratap Nagar of Borkheda police station area, a thief who came with the intention of theft got badly trapped in his own trap. The thief was trying to enter the house through a small hole of the exhaust fan in the kitchen, but he got stuck in the middle. Half of his body kept hanging inside the house and half outside. Later, the police reached the spot, 'rescued' him and sent him to the lockup.
The family had returned from Khatushyam Darshan
Homeowner Subhash Rawat said he and his wife had gone to visit Khatushyam on January 3rd. When they returned around 12:50 a.m. on January 4th, they were stunned by the scene outside the house. As they drove their scooter inside and its headlights fell on the kitchen wall, they saw the exhaust fan's vent open and someone trapped inside.
I struggled to get out, but I couldn't move
According to Subhash Rawat, the thief was trapped. He tried desperately to escape, but couldn't move. The landlord immediately informed the police. The thief remained hanging in the same position until the police arrived. Police arrived at the scene around 1:15 p.m. and, after considerable effort, pulled the thief out through the skylight and took him into custody.

Subhash said that the arrested thief also had an accomplice present, who escaped through the roof as soon as the landlord arrived. A search of the arrested thief revealed car keys in his pocket. Locals say that a suspicious car with a police insignia and white curtains covering the windows was seen in the street before the incident.
Search for other accused from CCTV footage
Police have begun scanning CCTV footage from the area to locate the absconding suspect and the suspect car. Based on the interrogation of the arrested thief, special teams have been formed to apprehend his accomplices. Police claim that the remaining gang members will be arrested soon.
