Tragic accident: Double-decker bus hits car, 6 killed on the spot; more than 6 injured
Hathras (The Uttam Hindu): News of a tragic road accident has emerged from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. Six people died on the spot in the accident on the Yamuna Expressway, while six more were seriously injured. The joy of Holi turned into mourning for the families of the deceased and injured.
The accident occurred around 4:15 a.m. near milestone 141 of the Yamuna Expressway in the Sadabad police station area. According to reports, an Eco van traveling from Delhi to Dholpur, Rajasthan, was hit from behind by a double-decker bus traveling from Noida to Gorakhpur. The impact was so severe that the Eco van's passengers were left in a state of panic.
Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and admitted the injured to nearby hospitals. A total of 13 people were in the Eeco van. Doctors declared six people dead during treatment, while the other injured are undergoing treatment. The driver is reported to be safe.
In this regard, Hathras Additional Superintendent of Police Ramanand Kushwaha stated that the bus hit the Eco van from behind. The police are investigating the matter and taking necessary action. It is worth noting that accidents occur regularly on the Yamuna Expressway due to speeding and negligence. Following road safety rules and driving cautiously are the only effective ways to prevent such accidents.
