Belghat (The Uttam Hindu): The murder of a woman in a village in the Belghat police station area is a shameful incident. Police investigations have revealed that the accused, suspecting her of having an illicit relationship, first strangled her to death with a rope and then buried her body in a pit behind their house.

According to the police, the accused suspected that his wife was talking to an unknown person on her mobile phone for hours and ignoring him. This often led to arguments in the home. On the night of December 21st, an argument broke out over the mobile phone. Later, the woman went to sleep. It is alleged that during this time, the husband strangled her to death with a rope.

When a foul smell arose, the body was taken out and buried again

During investigation, the police came to know that after the murder, to destroy the evidence, the accused first dug a shallow pit and buried the body. After some time, when a foul smell started emanating from there, he dug another big pit nearby and buried the body again. To suppress the smell, the accused also put about four kilos of salt and kept quiet so that no one gets to know about it.

The father got the information after four days, the matter reached the police

According to the information, the father of the accused works as a labourer in Uruwa market. He was informed about the incident four days later by the mother of the accused on the phone, after which the matter reached the police. It was told that the woman was married two years ago in a village in the Gola police station area. The woman's parents had passed away and she has a 10-year-old brother and an 8-year-old sister in her maternal home, for whom she also took care.

Attempt to mislead the police, then the accused broke down

To mislead the police, the accused first claimed that his wife had hanged herself and he had thrown the body in the river. Based on this statement, the police team searched for several kilometers in the Diara area along the river bank, but the body was not found. After this, the police got suspicious that how was it possible to carry the body so far on foot alone. Under strict interrogation, the accused broke down and confessed to burying the body. The police have arrested the accused. The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem. Further action is being taken on the basis of the report and other evidence.
