OpenAI Unveils ‘ChatGPT Go’ in India: Unlimited AI Power at Just ₹399 via UPI
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): American tech giant OpenAI on Tuesday announced the launch of a new subscription plan called “ChatGPT Go” exclusively for Indian users. According to the company’s press release, ChatGPT Go will be available at ₹399 per month (inclusive of GST), with payments enabled via UPI. The aim of this new plan is to make advanced AI tools more affordable and accessible for Indian users.
The ChatGPT Go plan is powered by GPT-5 and supports Indian languages. Compared to the free version, it offers 10x higher message limits with GPT-5, 10x more daily image generations, 10x higher file and image uploads, and double the personalized memory capacity.
This new option will exist alongside the current subscription tiers —
ChatGPT Plus (₹1,999/month) — for power users with priority access, faster performance, and higher limits. ChatGPT Pro (₹19,900/month, inclusive of GST) — for professionals and enterprises requiring maximum scale, customization, and access to advanced models.
Nick Turley, VP and Head at ChatGPT, said: “Millions in India use ChatGPT daily for learning, work, creativity, and problem-solving. ChatGPT Go makes these capabilities more accessible, with easy UPI-based payments.” OpenAI also revealed that India is ChatGPT’s second-largest market globally and among its fastest-growing markets. GPT-5 is now available to all users, while Plus subscribers can use it more extensively, and Pro subscribers get access to GPT-5 Pro.
