Daylight Horror in Punjab: Shop Owner Shot Dead, Bishnoi Gang Warns More Killings
Abohar(The Uttam Hindu): A chilling daylight murder has rocked Abohar in Punjab after three armed men shot dead Sanjay Verma, owner of New Wear Well Emporium, near Bhagat Singh Chowk. The brazen killing sent shockwaves through the area, and soon after, the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility through a chilling social media post.
According to police sources, the attackers arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire as soon as Verma stepped out of his car. In a dramatic turn, their bike skidded during the escape, forcing them to flee on foot before hijacking another motorcycle from a passerby to continue their getaway.
The Bishnoi gang’s threatening message surfaced on social media shortly after the murder, with an account named “Arju Bishnoi” using Anmol Bishnoi’s photo to claim the hit. The post boldly declared that Verma was killed over a personal dispute and warned that anyone who supported their enemies or opposed them would meet the same fate.
Their message stated: “We called him to settle a personal matter. When he refused to recognize us, we shot him to show who we are. Anyone helping our enemies will be buried.” The gang brazenly added, “We own up to everything we do, whether it’s murder or attempted murder,” and issued a chilling warning: “Fake gangsters, beware — we will break your pride and make you bow down.”
The murder and gang’s public claim have left locals terrified and raised serious concerns about rising gang violence in Punjab. Police have launched a massive manhunt for the killers and are investigating the social media posts as part of the case.
