Bihar(The Uttam Hindu): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made a crucial announcement ahead of Raksha Bandhan, offering a much-needed relief to teachers facing inter-district transfer challenges. This new initiative aims to streamline teacher postings and bring them closer to their hometowns, ensuring better work-life balance and improved motivation.

In response to numerous suggestions received from educators and stakeholders, the Chief Minister has directed the Education Department to collect three district preferences from teachers affected by transfers. Based on these preferences, the teachers will be posted within the selected districts, ensuring their convenience and minimizing travel hardships.

“Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our children. I urge them not to worry and continue serving the state with dedication,” Nitish Kumar posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

To ensure fair placement within districts, a District-Level Committee, led by the District Magistrate, will be responsible for assigning teachers to preferred blocks or nearby areas. This approach is expected to enhance the efficiency and satisfaction of the teaching workforce across Bihar.

The Chief Minister further emphasized that since November 2005, the Bihar government has been consistently working towards strengthening the education system. A large number of teaching positions have been filled to meet the growing demands of quality education.

Additionally, he announced that necessary amendments will be made to give priority to Bihar domicile holders during future teacher recruitment processes. This step aims to promote local employment and uplift the education infrastructure in the state.
