Bulandshahr(The Uttam Hindu):In a heart-wrenching accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, five members of the same family were burnt alive when their car caught fire after crashing into a roadside culvert early Wednesday morning. The sole survivor, a 28-year-old woman, is critically injured and receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. near Janipur village on the Jahangirabad-Bulandshahr road. According to police, the family was returning to Malviya Nagar in Delhi after attending a wedding in Badaun district. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver may have dozed off, causing the vehicle to veer off and collide forcefully with the culvert. The impact triggered a fire that engulfed the Swift car within moments.

By the time emergency services reached the scene and extinguished the flames, it was too late to save the five passengers trapped inside. Only one occupant, identified as Gulnaz, was pulled out alive and rushed to Jahangirabad Community Health Center in a critical state.

SP Dehat Dr. Tejveer Singh confirmed that the remains of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem and legal proceedings are underway. He also stated that driver negligence is believed to be the primary cause of the crash. Locals at the scene said the fire was so intense that rescue attempts were impossible. The tragedy has cast a pall of sorrow over the region, with grieving relatives inconsolable.
