Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu) – Security agencies achieved a major breakthrough in the Golden Temple bomb threat case. Two suspects from Tamil Nadu were arrested for sending threatening emails to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). Since July 14, SGPC had received five emails claiming the Golden Temple would be blown up using RDX.

Following the threats, security around the Golden Temple and nearby areas was tightened, with intensive search operations launched. Investigation teams had been active in Tamil Nadu for the past two days, leading to the detention of two suspects. Their identities have not been disclosed yet.

Police sources say initial interrogation has revealed crucial leads, and authorities are probing whether it was a lone cyber attack or part of a larger extremist network or conspiracy.
