Kedarnath Dham Opens for Devotees, Marked by Auspicious Rituals and Floral Tribute

Kedarnath (The Uttam Hindu): The doors of the world famous pilgrimage site Kedarnath Dham located in Uttarakhand were opened for devotees on Friday with rituals and worship. Now devotees will be able to have darshan of Baba Kedar for the next six months.

The doors of the world famous Shri Kedarnath Dham were opened with rituals and chanting of mantras at the auspicious time at 7 am on Friday morning. As soon as the doors of the temple opened, flowers were showered on the devotees from a helicopter. The Army band played melodious tunes while the doors were opening. During this time, the Kedarnath valley echoed with the cheers of the devotees.

On this occasion, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and other important officials were present. Apart from this, Rawal Bhimashankar Ling of Kedarnath, Chief Priest Vagesh Ling, Tirtha Purohits, BKTC officials, local and a large number of devotees were also present.

Earlier, the doors of Yamunotri Dham were opened on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. The doors of Yamunotri Dham were opened for the devotees at 11:55 am last Wednesday with Vedic chanting. A large number of devotees were also present during this time.

Let us tell you that after Yamunotri and Gangotri, the doors of Kedarnath Dham have been opened for devotees. Now the doors of Badrinath Dham will also open on May 4.

According to religious beliefs, devotees do not face any kind of obstruction in the Chardham Yatra if they start the journey from Yamunotri. Yamunotri is the origin place of Yamuna river. Yamuna ji is the sister of Yamraj and she has a boon that she will remove the sorrow of everyone through her water. It is believed that the devotee who takes a bath in Yamunotri gets freedom from the fear of death. For this reason, devotees start the Chardham Yatra from Yamunotri.

Like every year, this time too lakhs of devotees are expected to reach for the darshan of Baba Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. During the Yatra, heli services for Kedarnath Dham will start from May 2.
