151 Lives Saved: IndiGo Flight With Dimple Yadav On Board Escapes Tragedy at Lucknow Airport
Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu): A major tragedy was narrowly averted at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow on Saturday morning when an IndiGo flight bound for Delhi suffered a sudden technical snag just moments before takeoff.
The aircraft, carrying 151 passengers including Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav, was accelerating on the runway around 10:55 am when the pilot detected a fault. Acting swiftly, the pilot applied emergency brakes before the plane reached the end of the runway, successfully bringing it to a halt.
Thanks to the pilot’s alertness and timely decision, a potential major air disaster was prevented. The aircraft was later safely taxied back to the terminal.
IndiGo Airlines confirmed the technical issue and assured that passenger safety was their top priority. All travelers were shifted to another aircraft and flown to Delhi without further incident.
Airport authorities stated that while the incident temporarily affected operations, no passenger sustained any injury. They praised the quick response of both the pilot and ground staff for ensuring everyone’s safety.
The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 11:00 am and land in Delhi at 12:10 pm, but due to the emergency, departure was delayed. IndiGo’s engineering team has now initiated a detailed inspection of the aircraft to ensure such problems do not recur.
