Nitin Gadkari's House Receives Bomb Threat; Police Spring into Action

Nagpur (The Uttam Hindu): There was a stir in the police department after receiving a bomb threat to the Nagpur residence of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. This threatening call was received at the police control room on Sunday morning, after which the police immediately swung into action. However, after a few hours of effort, the police have arrested the accused who made the threat.

According to information received from the police, on Sunday morning at 8:46 am, an unknown person called the police control room emergency number 112 and threatened to blow up Nitin Gadkari's house with a bomb. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the control room immediately informed the local Pratapnagar police station.

As soon as the information was received, police teams reached Nitin Gadkari's residence along with bomb squad and dog squad. Police conducted a thorough search operation in the entire house and surrounding area and increased security. It is a matter of relief that no suspicious object was found during the search.

The police registered a case against the unknown person and started tracing the location of the caller. Within a few hours, the police arrested the accused from near Bima Dawakhana in Nagpur. The arrested accused has been identified as Umesh Vishnu Raut, who works at a country liquor shop located at Medical Chowk.

Police said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was present in Nagpur at the time of the incident. Now the police is trying to find out by interrogating the arrested accused Umesh why he gave this threat and what was his intention behind it. Police is also investigating some other angle in this case.
