PM Modi Announces ₹1,600 Crore Relief for Punjab, ₹1,500 Crore for Himachal After Aerial Survey

Gurdaspur (The Uttam Hindu): After Himachal, PM Modi conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Punjab. In Gurdaspur, PM Modi interacted with flood-affected farmers, NDRF and SDRF teams. He announced Rs 1500 crore for Himachal and Rs 1600 crore for Punjab.

Meeting With Farmers in Punjab, Aid of Rs 1600 crore

Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar said that the Prime Minister held a meeting with the farmers for about 30 minutes. The farmers told the PM that they have not yet received compensation for 2023. He said that if Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann was fine, he could have presented his side strongly. The PM has announced a help of Rs 1600 crore to Punjab.

1500 Crores Aid to Himachal:

PM did an aerial survey of the damages in Kullu, Mandi and Chamba from a helicopter. After this, a meeting was held in Kangra regarding the disaster, in which officials informed him about the damages through a presentation. During this, he announced financial assistance of 1500 crores rupees. PM said that the central government will provide all possible help. Financial assistance of 2 lakh rupees will be given to the families of the deceased and 50,000 rupees will be given to the injured.
