'I was Being Tortured and Pressured to take PM Modi's Name' : Pragya Thakur's Big Revelation
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur, who was recently acquitted in the Malegaon bomb blast case, has made a sensational claim that the investigators had pressured her to drag many big names including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the case. She alleged that she was tortured badly for this.
On Saturday, Pragya Thakur claimed, "They (investigators) asked me to name four people associated with the RSS, including Indresh Kumar and Ram Madhav, besides PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath. I was tortured to do all this. My lungs failed and I was kept in illegal custody in the hospital."
She further said, "All this will be part of the story I am writing. The truth cannot be hidden. I lived in Gujarat, so I was also asked to take PM Modi's name. However, I did not take anyone's name because they were asking me to lie."
These allegations of Pragya Thakur are also strengthened by the claim of former Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) member Mehboob Mujawar. Mujawar had also alleged that senior officers of the team had asked him to arrest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, but he refused to do so. According to Mujawar, the real motive behind this was to take the investigation in the wrong direction and create a narrative of 'saffron terrorism'.
It is worth noting that on Thursday, a special NIA court in Mumbai acquitted all the seven accused including Pragya Thakur, Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. The court said in its verdict that the prosecution failed to present any credible and concrete evidence against the accused. Six people were killed in this blast on September 29, 2008 in Malegaon, Maharashtra. Since being acquitted, Pragya Thakur and other accused have been accusing the then Congress government of framing them under a conspiracy.
