Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): To completely curb the smuggling of drugs and weapons in Punjab, the AAP government today took an important step and launched a modern anti-drone system. It was inaugurated in Tarn Taran by Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. This system will curb the smuggling of drugs and weapons from across the border. If any drone comes from Pakistan, it will be shot down immediately. Due to this, drugs will not be able to enter Punjab.

Punjab has become the first state to be equipped with modern anti-drone systems. The government has purchased 9 high-tech anti-drone systems at a cost of Rs 51.41 crore. These systems will prove to be a "game-changer" in preventing smuggling through drones across the border.

In his address, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal said that drug addiction was the biggest problem in Punjab till some time ago. The previous governments in connivance with the smugglers spread drugs in every household of Punjab. The situation was such that it seemed that Punjab was completely ruined. But after our government came to power, we started a war against drugs. No matter how big a minister, officer or smuggler he is, we have not spared anyone. We have caught everyone and put them in jail.

On this occasion, CM Bhagwant Mann said that in 2009, the number of children addicted to drugs in Punjab was around 1,000. But by 2015, this number increased to around 20,000. Whose contribution is this? Without naming Bikram Majithia, he targeted him and said that when ministers will carry 'chitta' in their cars, when smugglers will be made to sit at home by calling them 'jigri yaar', then how can the situation improve? When the gardener himself becomes dishonest, then who will save the garden? But now the situation has changed. The government will confiscate all those who have built palaces with the money earned from drugs and will use that money for the welfare of the public, education of children and treatment of people. Punjab is fighting, Punjab will win, and the drug mafia will be defeated.
