Punjab Police achieves major success in Kabaddi player Rana murder case, arrests main accused in firing incident

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu) : Punjab Police have achieved a major breakthrough in the recent murder case of Kanwar Digvijay Singh alias Rana Balachauriya in Mohali. SAS Nagar police have arrested Harpinder Singh alias Middu, a resident of Nowshehra Pannua village in Tarn Taran district. The accused was apprehended after a shootout with a police team. Police shared this information via the social media platform X.

According to the police, the arrest occurred during a special operation. Police received information about the accused's whereabouts, and when the team arrived to apprehend him, Harpinder opened fire. The accused was injured in the retaliatory fire and was hospitalized. Two policemen were also injured while pursuing the accused. Both are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

According to the police, preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested accused has been involved in several serious crimes. His criminal record is extensive and heinous. He has previously been named in several criminal cases. His role in this murder is believed to be central. The murder of Kanwar Digvijay Singh, alias Rana Balachauriya, occurred in Mohali a few days ago, creating a sensation in the area. Following this incident, the police immediately began an investigation and formed several teams. According to the police, the arrest of the main accused has increased hopes of solving the case. It is hoped that interrogation may reveal the motive behind the murder and other possible accomplices.
