‘They Beat Me, They’ll Kill Me!’ – Found Dead Next Morning in Bathroom: Love Obsession Turns Deadly
Barmer(The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident unfolded in Barmer, Rajasthan, where a 34-year-old woman, Kamla, was found hanging in the bathroom of her home on Thursday afternoon. The police said they received information around 3 PM and found the woman’s body at the scene. Her husband, Muknaram, a hardware businessman, claimed it was a suicide.
However, Kamla’s family vehemently rejected this version, alleging it was a cold-blooded murder disguised as suicide. Her brother, Heeraram, accused Muknaram of having an illicit affair with another woman to whom he allegedly gifted a car and a shop. He also submitted photos and videos showing Kamla in tears with visible injuries, claiming she was frequently beaten whenever she protested her husband’s extramarital relationship.
Family members further alleged Kamla had been brutally assaulted just two months ago, leaving her unconscious. They said Muknaram and his brother, Thakararam, used to confine Kamla at home and torture her, sometimes with pipes, forcing her to stay silent.
At the time of the incident, Muknaram was reportedly at home, while the couple’s two young children were at school. Kamla’s relatives have since staged a sit-in outside the Barmer district hospital’s mortuary, accusing the police of shielding the accused and demanding murder charges and immediate arrests.
Meanwhile, the police have registered an FIR and are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death. Local MPs, including Barmer MP Ummedaram Beniwal, have condemned the incident, calling it a shameful act and pressing for a fair investigation and strict punishment for those responsible.
The case has sparked outrage, highlighting concerns over rising crimes against women and domestic abuse. Whether Kamla’s death was suicide or a planned murder remains unclear and will depend on the ongoing police investigation and forensic findings.
