Minister Collapses at Bathroom, Blood Clot Detected in Brain—Airlifted to Delhi in Critical Condition
Ranchi (The Uttam Hindu): Jharkhand’s Education Minister Ramdas Soren was rushed to emergency medical care on Saturday morning after a sudden health collapse. The senior leader reportedly slipped and fell in his bathroom, suffering a serious head injury that led to internal bleeding in the brain.
According to initial medical reports from Tata Motors Hospital in Jamshedpur, doctors discovered a blood clot in his brain, prompting immediate concern and a decision to airlift him to Delhi for advanced treatment.
The update was confirmed by Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari, who said, “Ramdas Soren fell in his home bathroom this morning. He was immediately taken to Tata Motors Hospital in Jamshedpur. After a thorough scan, doctors found a blood clot in his brain due to the head injury.”
Minister Ansari further stated that the family, in consultation with doctors, decided to shift Soren to Medanta Hospital in Delhi via air ambulance. “He also suffers from kidney-related issues and has been receiving treatment in Delhi for some time, so the transfer was considered medically essential,” he added.
Ramdas Soren is regarded as a senior leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and was an important figure during the statehood movement. With the recent defection of Champai Soren from JMM to the BJP, Ramdas's political stature in the party had grown even more prominent. His health scare has triggered widespread concern across political circles in Jharkhand, with several leaders expressing support and praying for his speedy recovery.
