A Powerful Day to Seek Blessings from Mahadev and Narayan — Perform This Puja to Unlock Divine Fortune
New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): The auspicious fast of Sawan Putrada Ekadashi will be observed on August 5, 2025. Falling on the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi of the Sawan month, this sacred day holds deep spiritual significance for couples seeking progeny, families desiring harmony, and devotees seeking blessings from Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi, and Lord Shiva. According to Drik Panchang, the Ekadashi tithi begins at 11:41 AM on August 4 and ends at 1:12 PM on August 5, with the fast being observed on August 5 based on the Udaya Tithi (sunrise-based tradition). Sunrise will be at 5:45 AM and sunset at 7:09 PM.
This Putrada Ekadashi is especially powerful, as it aligns with the last Monday of Sawan and rare astrological yogas like Indra Yoga, enhancing the divine results of any spiritual practice. The day is considered highly auspicious for rituals related to parenthood, career progress, and financial growth.
Rituals include early morning bath, wearing clean clothes, and performing worship to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, followed by the worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Offer lamps, incense, flowers, sandalwood, and food (naivedya) to the deities. Chant the Vishnu Sahasranama and Shiv Stotra, and listen to or recite the Putrada Ekadashi Vrat Katha. Devotees fast throughout the day and engage in bhajans and kirtans at night. On Dwadashi (the following day), the fast is concluded by feeding Brahmins and offering donations.
For those seeking children, it is advised to offer bael fruit to Lord Shiva and recite Shiv Chalisa at a temple. To attract wealth, place a single-eyed coconut (ekakshi nariyal) in your home temple and worship during Indra Yoga. For career and business growth, worship 11 cowries wrapped in red cloth and place them in your office cash box or personal locker.
As per scriptures, this vrat not only ensures child blessings but also purifies sins, strengthens family unity, and brings spiritual upliftment. The divine grace of both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva makes this Ekadashi one of the most rewarding days in the Hindu calendar.
