Shimla(The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident in Shimla district’s Rohru subdivision claimed the lives of three young men late Tuesday night, while another sustained minor injuries. The incident occurred when the four youths were returning from a local Laila fair and their vehicle lost control, crashing into the Pabbar river.
According to reports, Vishal Thakur (village: Munchhara), Abhay Khandiyan (village: Dakgaon), and Himanshu (village: Munchhara) died on the spot, while Harsh Chauhan (village: Dogri Munchhara) was thrown out of the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries.
The accident is believed to have occurred around midnight, but police were informed around 3 AM. Upon receiving the alert, a team rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the river and sent to Rohru hospital for post-mortem examination before being handed over to their families.
Rohru SHO Praveen Rana stated that the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that rash driving or poor visibility on the road at night may have led to the crash. A case has been registered and further inquiry is underway. All four victims are said to be residents of the Chirgaon area.
