Kolkata (The Uttam Hindu) – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out raids on Friday at multiple premises linked to Trinamool Congress leader and state minister Sujit Bose in Kolkata. The action comes amid an investigation into alleged irregularities in municipal recruitment processes.

Sources said the ED teams searched Bose’s Salt Lake residence and office, as well as the homes of some former officials of Dum Dum Municipality. The probe is reportedly focusing on the roles of Bose and Nitai Dutta, former Vice Chairman of Dum Dum Municipality, where Bose served as Vice Chairman from 2010 to 2021.

Earlier, in January 2024, the ED had raided Bose’s residence in connection with the same case and conducted lengthy questioning. Officials stated that the latest raids aim to collect documents and evidence related to alleged irregularities in the recruitment process. Initially, Bose’s office was not on the agency’s list, but new information obtained during the investigation led to its inclusion.
