Horrific Cloudburst in Uttarakhand: Hotels Flooded, Houses Crushed, 12 Buried, 60 Missing in just 20 seconds

Uttarkashi (The Uttam Hindu): heart-wrenching video has emerged from Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, showing the terrifying moments of a cloudburst near Harsil. The sudden disaster has reportedly left 12 people buried under debris, while around 60 others are feared missing. The video, captured by locals, shows a horrifying scene where everything was destroyed in just 20 seconds — the sound of people screaming adds to the chilling atmosphere.

As per officials, the cloudburst led to a sudden surge in the water level of the Khir Ghad stream, sending heavy debris rushing through the town of Dharali. Several houses were damaged, and floodwaters entered multiple hotels and local shops. The Dharali market area also suffered extensive damage due to the rising water levels and debris flow.

Rescue operations are currently underway. SDRF teams have been dispatched from Bhatwari towards Dharali. District Magistrate Prashant Arya confirmed the incident, stating that the administration is actively engaged in relief and rescue work at the disaster site near Harsil.
