₹1 crore ‘Nagina’ becomes star attraction at International Pushkar Fair
Ajmer (The Uttam Hindu): The 2025 International Pushkar Fair has begun in Pushkar, located in Rajasthan's Ajmer district, and will continue until November 5th. People from far and wide bring their animals to the fair, where they are exhibited. This time, the most talked-about Marwari mare, "Nagina," valued at ₹1 crore, is gaining attention for its unique gait and price.
The Marwari mare "Nageena" has become the center of attraction at the Pushkar Fair. Nagina was raised by Gora Bhai of Bhatinda, Punjab, who has cared for her since she was a child. Gora Bhai owns the Saran Stud Farm, which breeds horses and mares of various breeds. He has been participating in the Pushkar Fair since 2010, but this time he has come with not just one but ten different horses and mares.
Speaking about Nagina, Gora Bhai told media that Nagina is only 31 months old and five months pregnant. Nagina's height is 63 inches and she will grow to 66 inches in the future. He explained that Nagina is distinguished by her gait, beauty, and physique. He said that Nagina was offered a price between 55 and 65 rupees at the fair, but he refused to sell her. He also said that he would bring some other animals to the fair.
Speaking about Nagina's diet, the farm owner explained that Nagina's diet consists of nuts and a team of seven to eight people is always on duty. In addition to nuts, the mare is also given supplements and high-quality fodder. Nagina also receives body massages twice a day to maintain her beauty.
Nagina is the daughter of the nationally famous horse Dilbag and has won five shows so far. Nagina was brought to the fair in a large, air-conditioned vehicle. Since then, Nagina has become popular with tourists. Nagina is a part of the fair every year, and her price also rises. The farm owner himself has estimated Nagina's value at 1 crore rupees.
