New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : A video of a bizarre incident during the Chhath festival in the capital, Delhi, is rapidly going viral on social media. In the video, BJP MLA Ravindra Negi was standing on the banks of the Yamuna River, filming a reel, when suddenly his foot slipped and he fell into the river.

A companion tried to save him

The video clearly shows that a man accompanying Negi tried to support him, but within seconds he lost his balance and fell into the water. Bystanders were stunned by the unexpected incident.

AAP MLA's Sarcasm

After the video surfaced, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sanjay Jha shared it on his former Twitter account, taking aim at the BJP. He wrote, "This is BJP MLA Ravi Negi, who has crossed all limits of lies. Jumlebaazi (rhetorical rhetoric) has now become his profession. Perhaps, fed up with this politics of lies and pretense, Mother Yamuna called him to her side."

Within hours, the video was shared thousands of times on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Many users found it funny and created memes, while others called it "the result of social media posturing."
