Brutality Beyond Limits: Dalit Teen Forced into Drinking Urine After Being Hung Upside‑Down
Ballabhgarh (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational incident has come to light on Monday evening in Ballabhgarh of Faridabad district of Haryana. Here some people allegedly held an 18-year-old Dalit youth hostage for three hours and brutally beat him. According to the police, the accused hung the youth upside down with ropes, shaved his head, eyebrows and moustache and forcibly made him drink urine. The seriously injured youth has been admitted to the hospital, where his condition remains critical.
Police are calling the incident a result of personal rivalry as the victim had recently changed his group of friends. However, the victim's family alleges that it is a case of caste violence. The family says that the attackers had made casteist remarks earlier as well and had beaten up the youth and threatened him on Sunday night as well.
Police investigation has revealed that the victim was held hostage in a room from 4 pm to 7 pm. She was hung upside down from a ceiling hook and beaten with sticks and sexually assaulted. After the incident, the accused fled after throwing her outside her house. The victim was so scared that she pleaded with her family not to complain to the police.
In this case, the police took immediate action and arrested 19-year-old Piyush, who has been sent to jail after being produced in court. Apart from this, two minors have also been taken into custody and sent to the juvenile home, while the search for another suspect is on. The police have registered a case against the accused under various sections of the SC/ST Act and the Indian Penal Code. The police have also recovered the sticks used in the attack.
The victim has suffered serious head injuries, one of his legs is broken and there are injury marks on many parts of his body. At present, he is not in a position to give a statement. Police spokesperson Yashpal Yadav said that the police is monitoring the victim's health and his statement will be recorded once he recovers. The victim is scheduled to undergo surgery on his leg on Thursday.
