New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) – A heartbreaking dowry murder has come to light in the capital, Delhi, which shames humanity. 27-year-old Kajal, a SWAT commando with the Delhi Police, was brutally murdered by her own husband. Kajal was four months pregnant at the time of the incident. The accused husband, Ankur, works as a clerk in the Ministry of Defense.

A horrific end to a love marriage:

Kajal and Ankur met in 2022 during their graduation. They developed a love affair and married with the consent of their families. At the time of the wedding, both were in government service: Kajal, a commando in the Delhi Police, and Ankur, a clerk in the Ministry of Defence. But things took a turn just 15 days after the wedding. According to the deceased's family, the husband and in-laws started demanding a car and cash. Kajal was constantly subjected to mental and physical torture.

"I've killed Kajal. Come and take her body."

The family alleges that on January 22nd, Ankur killed Kajal by hitting her on the head with an iron dumbbell. He then called Kajal's brother and said, "I've killed Kajal. Come and take her body." The attack killed Kajal and her unborn child.

Greed overpowered daughter's hard work and bravery.

Kajal's father Rakesh tearfully said that his daughter had fulfilled her dream of becoming a SWAT commando in Delhi Police through hard work. He said that Kajal was four months pregnant and her husband, blinded by greed, killed both the mother and the child. The deceased's mother Meena Devi alleged that she had also taken a loan of around Rs 10 lakh in her name to fulfil the demands of her in-laws.

A State Farewell

When Kajal's body arrived at her native village, Badi (Gannaur), an aura of grief swept through the village. Every eye was moist with the untimely death of a brave daughter who had served the nation. Kajal's funeral was conducted with state honors. A large number of police officers and villagers were present. Deep anger was felt among the people against dowry seekers.
