Gurugram (The Uttam Hindu): A disturbing incident occurred on Sunday morning in Gurugram's Gulf Course Road when a pet Husky dog suddenly attacked a woman who was out for a walk. The dog, which was with its owner, pounced on the woman, knocking her down and causing serious injuries to her hand and other parts of her body.

Viral CCTV Footage Shows the Attack

A purported CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the dog's aggressive behavior and the struggle of people around to rescue the woman. The footage reveals that the dog's owner tried to pull it back using a chain, but the dog continued to attack the woman before finally being pulled away.

Investigation Underway

The Gurugram police have initiated an investigation into the incident based on the viral footage. The woman, who lives in a nearby society, was walking on the sidepath with two others when the dog attacked her. She received primary treatment at a nearby hospital and was later sent home.

Rising Concerns About Dog Attacks

This incident has raised concerns about the increasing number of dog attacks in Delhi-NCR areas. Recently, Delhi Police wrote to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) regarding security protocols in parks after a 55-year-old man died following a stray dog attack. The Supreme Court has also taken suo motu cognizance of the growing menace of dog attacks and resultant fatalities in Delhi, describing the situation as "alarming and disturbing.
