Grand festival of folk faith: Chhath Puja concludes with ‘Usha Arghya’, devotees throng ghats

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Chhath Puja, a grand festival of folk faith and devotion across India, concluded on Tuesday with the Usha Arghya (the morning offering of aarti to the Sun God). Devotees concluded the four-day sacred ritual with the morning offering of aarti to the Sun God. Several prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, extended their greetings on the occasion.


In his official 'X' post, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "The great festival of Chhath concluded today with the morning offering of Arghya to Lord Surya. This four-day ritual witnessed the divine manifestation of our grand tradition of Chhath Puja. Heartfelt congratulations to all the devotees and fasting people, along with all my family members who were a part of this holy festival! May the infinite blessings of Chhathi Maiya always illuminate your lives."


Delhi CM Rekha Gupta wrote in her official 'X' post, "The morning offering of Arghya during Chhath Puja reminds us that every new day brings an opportunity for a fresh start. This offering to the Sun God energizes life, awakens faith, and inspires discipline. Today, Delhi's Yamuna is also illuminated by this divine energy. Heartiest greetings to all of you on this great festival of faith."


Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a social media post after receiving the blessings of Chhathi Maiya. "I had the great fortune of receiving the blessings of Chhathi Maiya along with devotees on the occasion of 'Usha Arghya', the final ritual of Chhath Mahaparva. Jai Surya Bhagwan," he wrote in the official X post.


Posting another 'X', he wrote, "Usha Arghya is the final day of Chhath Puja, symbolizing new hope, energy, and prosperity. Devotees will arrive at the ghat before sunrise and offer arghya to the rising sun, concluding their fast. My heartfelt best wishes to all the devotees and their families. May Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya bring happiness, peace, and prosperity in your lives."


Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said in his official 'X' post, "Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the countrymen on the fourth day of Chhath Puja, the great festival of faith, purity and sun worship! May Chhathi Maiya and Lord Surya's blessings bring health and good fortune to everyone's life. Jai Chhathi Maiya!"
