Jaisalmer (The Uttam Hindu): In a democracy, any common citizen has the right to contest elections, but a man living in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan has made contesting elections his hobby. 38-year-old student Jalaluddin has surprised everyone this time by directly filing his nomination for the post of Vice President of the country. He has also deposited the security deposit of Rs 15,000 fixed for nomination.

When Jalaluddin was asked about this, he replied very simply, "I am fond of contesting elections." Due to this hobby, he tries his luck in every kind of election. He told that he also wanted to participate in the university student union elections, but due to his old age, his nomination was not accepted.

This is not the first time that Jalaluddin has filed nomination for an election. He has earlier contested elections ranging from ward panch to Lok Sabha. In 2009, he contested the ward panch election, in which he had to face defeat by just one vote. After this, he also filed nomination in the 2013 assembly and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, but later withdrew his name.

When the nomination papers filed by Jalaluddin for the post of Vice President were scrutinized, a technical flaw was found in them. According to the rules of the Election Commission, his nomination papers will be cancelled due to this mistake. Even though Jalaluddin's nomination will be rejected this time too, his zeal to contest the elections is being discussed everywhere.
