Gujarat (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad has gone viral on social media, showing a woman attempting to rob a jewellery store by throwing chilli powder in the owner’s eyes. The incident took place in the Ranip area, where the woman, her face partially covered with a dupatta, entered the store pretending to be a customer. Moments later, she hurled chilli powder at the jeweller in an alleged bid to rob him.

However, the plan went terribly wrong. The shop owner, reacting instantly, dodged the attack, pinned the woman down, and slapped her at least 17 times within a few seconds before dragging her out of the shop. The woman eventually managed to escape before the police arrived, but left empty-handed. Authorities later reviewed the CCTV footage and launched an investigation, even though the jeweller reportedly refused to file a complaint.

The CCTV video of the incident spread rapidly online, sparking intense debate over “real gender equality” and the jeweller’s response. While some users praised the man’s quick reflexes and called it “instant karma,” others criticised the level of aggression shown toward the woman. Comments like “crime has no gender” and “that’s real equality” flooded social media, as the video continued to trend across multiple platforms.
