Lizard in curry: Canteen staff chews dead reptile, claims it's capsicum; watch video

Bhopal (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking and disgusting incident has come to light from the canteen of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. A dead lizard was allegedly found floating in the vegetable dish served by students eating there. However, the situation took a turn for the worse when, after the students created a ruckus, a canteen employee, in order to hush up the matter, chewed and swallowed the lizard in front of everyone, claiming it was a piece of bell pepper. The video of this horrific incident is now spreading like wildfire on social media.

How did this hair-raising incident happen?

The entire incident reportedly took place on March 18th. Engineering students were having lunch in the Gandhinagar campus canteen. According to eyewitnesses, they were shocked to find a dead lizard in their vegetable curry. They immediately complained to the canteen staff. According to reports, when the students protested, a staff member came over, picked it up, put it in his mouth, chewed it, and swallowed it. He then brazenly declared that it was just a piece of bell pepper. This act of the employee has left the students in even deeper shock.

The administration set up an inquiry, and students demanded the closure of the canteen

The university administration has awakened from its slumber after the video of this heinous incident went viral and the students protested in a massive uproar. Given the seriousness of the matter, the administration formed a special investigation committee on Sunday. RGPV (UIT) Director Sudhir Bhadauria has clarified that if the investigation report finds negligence at any level, strict action will be taken against the culprits. Meanwhile, the angry students have clearly demanded that the canteen, which is endangering the health and lives of students, be closed with immediate effect until the entire investigation is complete.
