Miracle at ancient temple! Lord Vishnu’s idol discovered, know what's special
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) – The land of South India is considered a witness to both spirituality and history, as there are more Hindu temples in South India than anywhere else in the world. Each temple has its own story. Among these is the Vasudeva Perumal Temple in Mandasa, which, due to its history and construction, has become a center of faith for devotees.
The Vasudeva Perumal Temple is located in Mandasa village, located in Srikakulam district, near the border of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. The temple has been rebuilt several times to preserve its glory and history. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, devotees come from far and wide to fulfill their wishes. It is believed that the idol of Lord Vishnu enshrined in this temple is the oldest and was self-manifested. Consequently, devotees place greater faith in this temple than in other temples. Lord Narayana is enshrined in the temple with his wife.
This form of Narayana is believed to be devoid of flaws and a symbol of compassion. The temple is said to have been built in 1744 AD and was commissioned by Sri Hari Hara Rajamani during his reign. Originally revered by the kings and rulers of Mandasa, the temple became increasingly difficult to perform rituals over time and due to a lack of resources.
In 1988, religious guru Sri Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji visited the temple to save the temple and its devotees' faith. Concerned by the state of the temple, he initiated the temple's reconstruction to preserve Hinduism and restore the worship of Lord Narayana. A committee was formed to construct the temple, and the sanctum sanctorum, flag pillar, and main hall were built.
The temple was revived in 2005, and rituals began. The temple was also special to the religious leader Sri Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji, as his guru, Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, completed his education there. He even organized a ceremony to honor his guru upon the completion of the temple.
