New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News) - Players often try their luck on the cricket field, but such a scene was seen in the South Africa T20 League (SA20), where a fan sitting in the stands became a millionaire overnight by just taking a catch.

The opening match of the SA20 saw a high-scoring match between MI Cape Town and Durban Super Giants. Runs were pouring in, but the biggest talking point was the fan who took a spectacular one-handed catch just outside the boundary to win ₹1.07 crore.

MI Cape Town batsman Ryan Rickelton was in excellent form. He smashed a towering six off the fourth ball of the 13th over. The ball flew straight into the stands, where a fan displayed remarkable agility and took a clean one-handed catch. With this catch, his fortunes changed. A video of this moment is rapidly going viral on social media.

In fact, the SA20 League has a special rule called "Catch a Million." Under this rule, if a spectator in the stands makes a clean one-handed catch, they are awarded a prize. This fan received a prize of 2 million rand, or approximately Rs 1.07 crore in Indian currency, under this rule.

Talking about the match, Durban Super Giants, batting first, scored 232 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs, which is the highest total in SA20 history. Devon Conway scored 64 runs and Kane Williamson played a crucial inning of 40 runs. Chasing the target of 233 runs, Ryan Rickelton single-handedly took charge of MI Cape Town. He scored a brilliant century with the help of 11 sixes. In the end, Jason Smith raised hopes by scoring 41 runs in 14 balls, but the team could not reach the target.

Ultimately, the Durban Super Giants won this thrilling match by 15 runs. Although Ryan Rickelton's century didn't secure the team victory, his one-handed catch in the stands off a six became the most memorable moment of the match.
