Shocking horror: Mother lets lover, friend Gangrape minor daughter 8 times in her presence

Haridwar (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking case of gangrape has come forward from Haridwar, Uttarakhand. A mother stands accused of orchestrating the rape of her own minor daughter eight times by the hands of her boyfriend and other male associate. The allegations have led to the arrest of the mother, a former district president of the BJP Mahila Morcha, and her alleged boyfriend.

The incident came to light after the 13-year-old victim, who had been living with her father for approximately a month following her parents' ongoing marital disputes, began showing withdrawn and quiet behaviour. Concerned by his daughter's demeanour, her father questioned her. It was then that the horrific truth emerged: the girl confided that her mother, identified as Anamika Sharma, had arranged for her sexual assault by her boyfriend, Sumit Patwal, and other individuals.

As per the police, the survivor was gangraped eight times between January and March.

Following the girl's confession, Haridwar police launched an immediate investigation. Initial findings reportedly corroborated the allegations, leading to the arrest of Anamika Sharma and Sumit Patwal. Police are now actively searching for other individuals allegedly involved in the crime.

BJP’s Respond

When questioned about the accused, Ashutosh Sharma, the Haridwar district president of the BJP, clarified that Anamika Sharma had been relieved of all her party responsibilities in August 2024. He stated that she held no current position within the Bharatiya Janata Party, and a formal letter confirming this was shared by the party.
