From the market to the mosque… he kept hunting whoever he found.
A rabid dog entered Haidergarh town around 4 p.m. on Wednesday evening, attacking anyone in its path. This terror began at the railway crossing on the Haidergarh-Bhitaria road, where it bit 22-year-old Ankush on his leg while he was riding a bike from Malinpur. The dog then targeted Kundan Kumar and Vimla Devi of Lilhora ward, who were crossing the road. Dayashankar Mishra, who was on his way to a paan shop near the main intersection, was suddenly attacked by the dog and grabbed his leg. Bystanders managed to chase the dog away and save his life. Moving on to the Raebareli road, the dog also bit elderly Hanif, Mohammad Dawood, Anwar, Nisar Ahmed, and 9-year-old Al Fiza, who were on their way to the mosque to offer prayers.
From 4 pm to 6 pm, the rabid dog created panic throughout the town. Locals, alarmed by the constant attacks, took to the streets armed with sticks. Seeing the crowd approaching, the dog fled into the nearby forest, bringing a sigh of relief. Angered by this incident, the villagers have informed the Block Development Officer (BDO) and the town council president, demanding that a campaign be launched to capture these stray dogs as soon as possible to prevent such incidents in the future.
A 3-year-old girl playing outside her home was attacked.

Here, the three-year-old daughter of a man named Rinku was playing outside the house with her five-year-old elder sister. A stray dog attacked the little girl and severely bit her cheek. Hearing the girls' cries, family members and villagers rushed to the scene and somehow rescued the girl from the dog's clutches. The blood-soaked girl was initially taken to the local health center, but due to the deep wounds, she was referred to the district hospital. There, doctors administered a rabies injection and she is receiving specialized treatment.
The injured queued up at the hospital and were given anti-rabies injections.
