Tantra, Tricks, and Hidden Cameras: Self-Styled Godman Nabbed in Maharashtra
Maharashtra (The Uttam Hindu) : A 29-year-old self-proclaimed godman, Prasad Bhimrao Tamdar, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in voyeurism and practising black magic, police officials confirmed on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Tamdar operated an ashram in the Bavdhan area and claimed to offer spiritual and astrological remedies. According to police, he exploited the trust of individuals who approached him for guidance by asking them to download a mobile application called Air Dried Kid. This app reportedly gave him covert access to their devices.
Investigators revealed that Tamdar manipulated his followers, encouraging them to engage in sexual activities with women, including sex workers, while he secretly observed the acts through the app on his phone. A senior officer stated, "Tamdar would lure people by promising solutions to their problems. After gaining their trust, he used the app to monitor their private moments without consent."
So far, four individuals have filed complaints against him, accusing Tamdar of cheating and extorting money in the name of spiritual practices. Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice, Other Inhuman and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013. The investigation is ongoing.
