Katni (The Uttam Hindu): A surprising video from Madhya Pradesh has gone viral in which a tiger is seen rubbing its head against a Shivalinga in the forests of Katni district. The incident reportedly took place in the Sadar forest area under Dhimarkheda tehsil, where an ancient Shivalinga dedicated to Lord Shiva is located. The unusual scene has drawn attention due to the rare combination of wildlife activity and religious belief.

According to villagers, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the tiger approached the Shivalinga calmly and stayed there for some time, rubbing its head and body against the stone. The sight surprised local residents and quickly spread on social media.

Forest officials said the presence of tigers in the Sadar area is not unusual, but the animal’s calm behaviour near human settlements has raised concern. While many people described the incident as a miracle, officials explained that wild animals often rub their bodies against hard surfaces to mark territory, leave scent or relieve itching.

After the incident, precautionary measures have been taken in nearby villages. Forest officials said the location is close to Sadar village and monitoring teams are keeping watch on the tiger’s movement. Residents have been advised to avoid entering forest areas and to remain alert for safety reasons.
