New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) - A unique incident took place in Konchi village of Guraru block in Gaya district of Bihar, leaving everyone astonished. Here, 74-year-old former Air Force personnel Mohanlal took his last journey while still alive. Amidst the sound of band music and chants of "Ram naam satya hai," Mohanlal, lying on a flower-bedecked bier, was taken to Muktidham, while the tune of "Chal ud ja re panchhi, ab desh hua begaana" played in the background, making the entire atmosphere emotional.

People witnessed a unique scene, a symbolic funeral.

Mohanlal had invited his villagers, relatives, and friends to "join the last journey." At first, the news seemed like a joke in the village, but when people arrived, the entire atmosphere was stunned—Mohanlal lay on a flower bier in front, and hundreds of people walked behind him chanting "Ram naam satya hai." Upon reaching Muktidham, Mohanlal himself rose from the bier, and a symbolic effigy was placed in his place and cremated. The pyre was lit with full rituals, the ashes were immersed in the river, and finally, a community feast was organized for everyone.

"After death, we can't see who came, so I wanted to see it while we were alive." - Mohanlal

Mohanlal explained that he took this unique step because "after death, a person can't see who attended his funeral. I wanted to see with my own eyes who showed me love and respect."

Mohanlal is not only a social worker, but he also built a well-equipped crematorium in the village at his

own expense, so that people would not face difficulties in cremating bodies during the rainy season. Villagers say that his initiative is an inspiration for the entire region.
