Police were informed after 14 hours, the body had turned blue

According to the Tell City Police Department, 39-year-old Trevor Rikhard-Hayes and 31-year-old Katherine Carter have been charged with aggravated murder and negligence. On March 31, at around 1:20 pm, father Trevor called 911 and told the police that his child was not breathing. Police and medical team reached the spot and tried to save the child by giving CPR, but he was declared dead. The couple said that they last saw the child alive at 11 pm. According to the investigating officer, the child had died several hours ago as his body had turned completely blue and yellow.

The children's room was a mess, weighing only 15 pounds

The revelations made during the police investigation are horrifying. The deceased two-year-old child weighed only 15 pounds (about 6.8 kg). His body bore numerous injuries and insect bites. Mother Catherine herself told the police that the child was eating his diaper. Authorities suspect that the child took such a step due to hunger.
