Advisory released for Indians traveling to Iran amid recent incidents

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu):Recently, several cases have emerged in which Indian citizens were lured into traveling to Iran with false promises of employment or assurances that they would be sent to other countries for employment. Upon arrival in Iran, these Indian citizens were kidnapped by criminal gangs and ransoms were demanded from their families for their release.

In this context, all Indian citizens are strongly cautioned to exercise extreme caution regarding such employment promises or offers. It is particularly important to note that the Iranian government allows visa-free entry to Indian citizens only for tourism purposes. Agents promising visa-free entry for employment or other reasons may be in collusion with criminal gangs. Therefore, Indian citizens are cautioned against falling prey to such offers.
