Arizona (The Uttam Hindu): A medical transport aircraft tragically crashed on Wednesday in Chinle, a region within Navajo Nation, Arizona, leaving four people dead. According to the Navajo Nation Police, the small plane was en route to pick up a patient from a nearby hospital when the crash occurred.

The incident took place around 12:40 PM, and initial reports confirmed that the victims were burnt alive in the fiery wreckage. In a Facebook statement, Navajo police said, “Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those lost.”

According to CNN, quoting Navajo Police and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plane involved was a Beechcraft 300. It crashed while attempting to land at Chinle Municipal Airport.

Sarah Taylor Sulick, spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), informed CNN that investigators are already en route to the site and are expected to arrive by tonight. Once on site, officials will begin documenting the scene and examining the wreckage before moving the remains of the aircraft to a secure facility for further evaluation. Both the FAA and NTSB have launched a full-scale investigation into the cause of the crash.
