Kalyuga At Its Peak: 45 Year Old Married a 6-Year-Old Girl

Kabul (The Uttam Hindu) : Shocking news has come from Afghanistan's Helmand province. The news is that here an innocent 6-year-old girl was married to a 45-year-old man. When the pictures of the wedding came out, the Taliban officials themselves were shocked and stopped the girl from being taken to her in-laws' house.

Taliban officials also said that she could be sent to her husband's house when she turns 9. The case has sparked outrage but the marriage has gone ahead. The man, who already has two wives, paid the girl's family money in exchange for her. The wedding ceremony took place in Marjah district where the girl's father and the groom were later arrested. However, no charges have been filed against anyone. Since the Taliban returned to power in 2021, the country has seen a rise in child and forced marriages. Child marriages are already high in Afghanistan.
