‘Every American will get $2,000’: Trump slams critics of tariff policy, calls them fools

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump once again defended his tariff policy, calling those who oppose it fools. He claimed that because of tariffs, America has become the richest and most respected country in the world, with virtually no inflation.

Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, saying, "Those who are against tariffs are fools." He said the US economy is at its strongest ever, the stock market is at record highs, and 401K investments are at an all-time high. He claimed the tariffs are generating trillions of dollars in revenue for the US, allowing the country to soon begin paying down its approximately $37 trillion debt.

Trump also said that America is now experiencing record levels of investment, with new plants and factories opening across the country. He wrote that the proceeds from the tariffs will provide a dividend of at least $2,000 per person to every citizen, although high-income earners will not be included in this plan.

However, Trump did not clarify how the proposed payments would be processed and how the funds would be distributed.
