New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Heavy and continuous rainfall in Vietnam has triggered severe floods and landslides, causing massive destruction. So far, 41 people have died in this natural disaster. Floodwaters have submerged nearly 52,000 homes, and more than 62,000 people have been evacuated to safer areas.

According to ANI, central Vietnam has recorded the most intense impact of the rainfall. Some regions received over 150 cm of rain in just three days, leading to widespread flooding and multiple landslide incidents. Many people were trapped on rooftops, and rescue operations are underway to bring them to safety.

The worst-affected areas include provinces known for coffee production and tourism. Vietnam’s Environment Ministry confirmed that 41 deaths have been reported across six provinces, while 9 people are still missing.

Floods and landslides have also forced the closure of several major roads. Electricity supply has been cut off in nearly 1 million households. Rescue teams are continuously working in the affected regions, but ongoing rainfall is making relief operations more difficult.
