Trump tells G7 leaders Iran 'about to surrender', claims success in 'Operation Epic Fury'
Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, vowed to continue fighting and block the Strait of Hormuz. The G7 leaders urged Trump to end the war quickly and secure the strait, but Trump's approach was seen as ambiguous
Washington (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump has claimed in a virtual meeting with leaders of the G-7 countries that Iran's position has weakened significantly and it is now close to surrender, according to US media reports.
According to the report, Trump said that the current situation clearly indicates that the outcome of the war is now almost certain. However, there was no immediate official response from the White House.
It is reported that during an online meeting with the leaders of the Group of Seven (G-7) countries on Wednesday, Trump also mentioned Operation Epic Fury, the military operation launched against Iran. He said that after this operation, a major change has been seen in the region. According to media reports, Trump said in the meeting that a "cancer" that had become a threat to the world has been eliminated. He also claimed that there is currently no clear leadership in Iran, hence there is no one there who can officially declare surrender.
It's worth noting that the conflict in the Middle East has been escalating for nearly two weeks, and drone and missile attacks have continued unabated. Meanwhile, Trump launched a scathing attack on Iran's leaders, calling them "crazy criminals" and saying that eliminating such leaders would be an honor for him.
